HEARTS 3.3 Carat Super Chunky Old Cut Paste Dangle Earrings 14k Gold Romantic Gift Bridal Something Old Wedding Jewelry Figural
I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!
ABOUT:
Timeless and romantic Victorian era earrings in 14k gold, each holding an old cut paste stone suspended in prongs. These are meant to look like some baller diamonds with a total carat weight of 3.2 carats, but the joy of paste is you get the bright white sparkle without the price! Especially to find in these extra chunky antique cuts - each stone measures about 1.68 carat so you can imagine the price multiplier if they were diamonds.
We continue to hunt for the uncommon and unusual here at MHA and these have a special little detail for you to seek out in pics - The base of the settings are detailed with little hearts! What a fun little touch they thought to add during the Victorian period!
The ear wires have a catch in the back to hook into.
No hallmarks remain, they test at 14k gold with a beautiful rosy patina.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
They measure about 19mm top of ear wire to bottom by 8.3mm at the widest. The little heart settings are 8.9mm deep.
They weigh 3.2g combined.
The paste stones are about 7.3mm cushion cut, around 1.68 carat each by mm as input into a carat calculator, extra chunky.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Each stone has a few tiny chips more like an uneven area or a flake of loss to the outside edge but they appear complete and full to the eye while wearing. Really just some nibbles to each stone around the girdle with just 2 or 3 being real flakes of loss but again in the settings this isn't really detectable without studying them. Hopefully you can capture it in the 20x zoom in the photos which will make them appear way worse than they do in real life. One has a nibble to the underside facet edge as well, seen as a speck when looking through the stone, again tiny.
The prongs are delicate so you don't want to squeeze the stone as it could sink into the setting. Still beautiful and appropriate for gentle handling considering age and fabrication.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
I enjoy making my customers happy and matching unique pieces with new homes. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! It means a lot to me that you are visiting my shop! : )
