Large Antique 3 CARATS Old Mine Cut DIAMOND Five Stone Stacker Band Bezel Set Edwardian 18k Gold Big Finger Size 3Ctw OMC

Large Antique 3 CARATS Old Mine Cut DIAMOND Five Stone Stacker Band Bezel Set Edwardian 18k Gold Big Finger Size 3Ctw OMC

I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered one piece at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:
Here's an impactful one to say the least! This antique ring has five old mine cut diamonds totaling three carats in sought after bezel settings, raised slightly to splay across the finger. Wonderful mix of hues (my favorite are the two flanking the center that are a pale yellow in color) and antique cuts, although they face up bright and well matching in ambient light as a group. I just love to see those sunny hues light up a bit more in the direct sun.

The center diamond alone is about 1.15 carat. We love these antique bezel settings because they are so comfortable, smooth across the ring face and beautiful to layer.

Scrolling details accent the gallery of the ring and extend to the ring shoulders. This one is a large finger size, so it would look even better on a hand that fit it properly, as I am showing it stacked with a ring several sizes smaller.

Quite sturdy and special!

I purchased it in France but I'm not sure its origin as no hallmarks remain. Tests at 18k gold with the bezels topped in platinum as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal.

Antique box is not included. Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 9 1/2. It is a sturdy setting so it is sizeable to some extent, but best to check with your local jeweler who would be doing the work to determine their comfort level. There are varying tricks, sometimes they can make the shank slightly more oval, which is not seen while wearing, etc. You can usually email or text them photos for feedback. Weighs 3.85 Grams.

Ring face is 7.5mm north to south on the finger and end diamond to end diamond is 24.5mm wide east to west. 5mm off the finger.

Exact measurements and thereby carat weight is unknown as I would never remove them from the setting but it's around 3 carats. The stones widen out an unknown amount in the bezel settings which wrap around the edges of the stone.

The largest center stone is 6.7 x 6.5mm and 1.15 carat alone.
Flanking the center are 5.3mm stones a little over .6 carat each.
End stones are about 4.2mm, a third of a carat each.

IMPORTANT. CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. This one is ready for regular wear with all the stones well set and no movement. The smallest stones on each end have wear to the bezels with a bit of loss and unevenness but they are still well surrounded and well held. You can see this in the zoom photos but with the platinum being white, the unevenness is not glaring. Some rub marks to the vertical edges of the gallery, primarily to the center stone from stacking over the years.

All the stones have faint inclusions typical for what we see from the period when stones were cut in much more limited supply, in the SI range for the most part. Three have a smattering of carbon and the center stone has a gray pocket inclusion that is eye visible with a less visible crystal and tiny carbon speck smattering around it. The others with a needle, crystal pocket or speck here or there, none overall frosty, no large inky carbon spots, as the one in the largest stone is a somewhat translucent gray and not solid black. Three stones have an indented natural inclusion where an inclusion carried up to the surface in one spot of each leaving a tiny unpolished crease or fleck, very slightly eye visible, I am not able to pick it out without magnification. No cracks or chips to any of the stones as the aforementioned are natural characteristics. Also typical antique stones with varying hues, two with a wonderful warm to pale yellow color, having been cut during the antique period when the conflict free mines in operation produced warmer rough. All typical quirks of antique stones and was priced with these things in mind. Really fun to wear, but may not be the piece for someone looking for the highest rankings in the modern Four C's scale for machine cut stones as they are not all bright white and crystal clear. But the piece is in great wearable condition with a wonderful size and impact!

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
