Vintage Dangle Earrings Ten Antique 2.2 Carats Old Mine Cut DIAMOND 18k Gold Linear Five Stone Bezel Set Long Sparklers

Vintage Dangle Earrings Ten Antique 2.2 Carats Old Mine Cut DIAMOND 18k Gold Linear Five Stone Bezel Set Long Sparklers

I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:

I have a hard time finding old cut earrings in yellow gold because it was so popular for the period to set diamonds in a white metal so I jumped at these! The delicious 2.2 carats of antique old mine cuts are set in buttery 18k gold bezel settings, each one attached by loop to the next. This allows for each setting to move independently for the most beautiful dangle!

I got these in France, I know the diamonds are antique, but again the all yellow gold settings are uncommon so the stones may have been re-set in the vintage period. They are wonderful, my favorite parts are the slightly varying hues to the antique diamonds, one even being a gorgeous fancy light yellow, some of the others with a slight warmth. This isn't really glaring in ambient light but they do light up a bit in the sun which I find so lovely. Always fun to find unique quirks in antique diamonds, each one of a kind!

These have French hallmarks on the posts of each, one push back is stamped "England" and the other push back is stamped 14k, so one or both are definitely replacements but they function well and are really tight. They even take a bit of tactile strength to remove but at least you know they are on securely.

Elegant, timeless and sparkly.
Would be a beautiful something old for a bride.

Comes as pictured in the black box which is not old, but that's how they came to me. The box is large which tends to make the earrings appear a bit smaller than they are but it is a nice casing. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers draw them out to get an idea of scale.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

They measure about 34mm top to bottom. The pair weighs 3.7g combined.

The diamonds on each measure 4.2-3.8mm / 4.1-3.9mm / 4-3.7mm / 3.2-3.3mm / 3-3.2mm. Depths vary and I would not remove them from the setting for exact measurements but just over a carat for each. Sold to me as 2.2 carats tdw for the pair which aligns with the measurements as the old cuts are on the chunky side.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
With the varying sizes of the diamonds, we think the antique stones were likely taken from another piece to assemble the pair of earrings? I always wish I knew the stories these pieces could tell. One earring has larger stones at the bottom than the other, and the other with the smaller stones at the bottom, have larger stones at the top, so they kind of balance each other out : ) These differences aren't noticeable when worn because we are talking about a fraction of a millimeter difference, I only noticed it when I took a caliper to each stone.

Typical antique diamonds with natural inclusions and some frosty spots. Each of the diamonds individually are small so this is not very evident to the eye. They have a lovely sparkle. One earring has a carbon spot on the smallest top two stones which are eye visible, the other has a smaller smattering of warm carbon with a tiny cluster of spots on the bottom stone, slightly eye visible. Everything else is less so. Nothing really glaring while wearing but I always do a detailed diamond report after studying each stone under magnification. No damage, no movement, sturdy settings with tight pushbacks, very secure to wear.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

I enjoy making my customers happy and matching unique pieces with new homes. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! It means a lot to me that you are visiting my shop! : )
