Ornate Floral Hexagon Starburst Old Mine Cut Diamond 18k Gold Ring Domed Floral Black Enamel Victorian Pavilion Band

Ornate Floral Hexagon Starburst Old Mine Cut Diamond 18k Gold Ring Domed Floral Black Enamel Victorian Pavilion Band

Back from my Spring Sourcing trip with a big pile of vintage and antique finds. Feel free to follow along on instagram! New listings coming every week for the foreseeable future.

ABOUT:
Every time I look at this ring, I see something new. The hexagonal ring face is domed like a sort of six sided pavilion but at some views I can see a starburst shape from the center. Other times I see a ...spiderweb? I'm probably the only one but for some reason it just reminds me of that. Upon closer inspection you can pick out the black enamel scrolling and floral details, which continue along the beveled shoulders and even to the vertical edges below the ring face.

All this leads up to a cutie little old mine cut diamond that crowns the top of the pavilion (or the center of the spiderweb tee hee). A circular opening at the back hints at this perhaps having been a locket ring at one time.

Unique and pretty little piece from the Victorian period with such interesting designs. I got it in the UK and almost missed the French hallmark at one side telling us where it came from and that it is 18k gold.

Gives a great antique look with ornate touches and some fun geometry.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 7, a little over.

The piece weighs 2.7 grams. The ring is 9.3mm north south and sits low and comfortably on the finger, 4.3mm to the top of the dome.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Wear to the enamel as expected for age. Diamond reads a bit gray with a bit of frost in the closed back setting.

Please also note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
